As an entrepreneur, getting your name out there and making new connections is the name of the game. So how many times have you stumbled through introducing yourself and your business to a potential client? Have you walked away knowing you didn’t get your message across? Do you find yourself wanting another chance to make a better impression? I would venture to guess that you haven’t perfected your elevator speech.
Then it’s time to get in the game! It’s not as painful as you might guess. I have discovered a free resource to assist with developing your elevator speech and they’ve made getting started easy!

The 15SecondPitch describes itself as:

“n. An introduction that is concise, compelling and conversational. No elevator required!”

The 15 Second Pitch Wizard asks five questions:

• I am a(an)
• specializing in
• what you do
• what you are best at
• call to action

The Wizard then combines your answers into a short script. And there it is, the basis to begin personalizing your elevator speech. How painless was that.

After running through the Wizard’s five questions, I had the basis of a script ready for my editing. The end result looked nothing like the initial output but that’s the point. You really make this your own.

Once your pitch is completed, the Wizard creates a online business card that includes:

• Name
• Title
• Email Address
• Telephone Number
• Elevator Pitch
• Picture (optional)

Here’s a look at my first pitch card:

Additional options on the site including:

Pitch Directory – your Pitch Card is displayed in free searchable directory.

Snip - produces the HTML code of your 15Second Pitch business card to include on your website, blog, email and social network profiles.

Practice Pitch Timer – practice saying your pitch so that it flows like water.

Design multiple pitch cards – create multiple pitches directed your target niche or special project

Email your pitch card – email your card directly to those on your networking list.

The Point

As an entrepreneur, you want to be able to make an impression on a new contact in such a way that it grab’s their attention and has them wanting to know more about you and your business. Try it – it’s a free, easy and useful marketing tool.
